What is considered a defective product and can be returned for a refund or exchange?

A defective product is one that displays manufacturing problems beyond the normal range for that product. The following issues are considered defects:

- Broken parts on a product.
- Missing parts
- Mis-shapen parts out of the norm for the particular product. For example, if the head on a figure is twisted or the face is deformed when it is not supposed to be.
- Parts incorrectly attached on a product. For example, if the arm on a figure is attached incorrectly by the manufacturer.
- Incorrect paint job as compared to others of the same product. For example, if the color is supposed to be white and it's painted pink.

The following cases are NOT considered defective and products may not be returned for the following cases:

- Minor paint over-runs or blemishes. These are a normal part of the mass painting process used and very common in mass-produced products.
- Minor scratches or dents on product. In a lot of cases, these are also part of the mass production process.
In some cases, we may make exceptions for the above and allow returns. In such cases, a 15% re-stocking fee will apply

OTHER EXCEPTIONS

The following items cannot be returned if defective due to the fact that we have no way of returning them to the manufacturer, and therefore we cannot accept liability for their faulty QC issues:
- Any Macross products manufactured by Yamato
- Any Macross products manufactured by Bandai
- Any Macross products manufactured by CM's
- Any Macross products manufactured by Kaiyodo/Organic
- Any Transformers products manufactured by Takara/Tomy
- Any e-Hobby exclusive Transformers products

Returns and Exchanges: What is your returns and exchanges policy?

Your full satisfaction is our #1 concern. Should you receive a damaged
or defective product, please email us at service@tmpanime.com or call
us at 714.253.3781 within 7 days of your receipt date (Please check HERE for a full description of what qualifies as a defective product and for information about exceptions). For qualifying items, we will provide
you with an RMA number so that you may return the item for an exchange
or refund. Once you have received the RMA number and/or return shipping
label, the item must be shipped back to us within 7 days. Please note
that shipping costs are not refundable. Defective or damaged items must
be returned in their entirety, including any packaging materials and
must not be otherwise damaged beyond the defect. If the item is
returned to us damaged beyond the defect that it is being returned for,
a 15% re-stocking fee will apply. A copy of your sales receipt should
also be included with the returned item. Also, once we have emailed you a return shipping label, you must ship the item within 7 business days of receiving the shipping label. If the item is shipped later than 7 days, we can only refund 50% of the cost of the item because at that point it would not be possible to return the damaged item to the manufacturer.

If you receive an item and decide that you do not like or want it, you
may return it for a refund. The item must NOT be opened and must be in
the exact condition that it was received. You will be responsible for
all shipping costs for returning the item. Also, a 15% re-stocking fee
will apply. Opened items that are neither defective nor damaged cannot
be returned.

As of 5/14/2007, the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) implemented new higher shipping rates, a new shipping calculation method, and changed international shipping services. How will these changes affect my order?

As of May 14, 2007, the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) implemented some major changes to pricing and services. Many think that the only thing affected was the price of postage. However, there were far more changes made by the USPS.

Dimensional Weight for Domestic Priority Mail and Express Mail

This is a new concept introduced to supposedly provide more accurate shipping costs. Frankly, we feel that this is going to be a major problem for everyone involved. Here is how it works:

- If a package is greater than 1 cubic foot in volume (12" x 12" x 12") and is shipped a distance of over 600 miles from us (i.e. to an address in zone 5-8), then shipping costs will be calculated based on the package's dimensional weight instead of it's actual weight. Since we are located in Fullerton, CA 92831, packages shipped to every state except CA, AZ, UT, and NV will be affected.
- To determine the dimensional weight, multiply the lenght by the width by the height and divide by 194, then round up to the next whole number
- So if a package measures 16" x 16" x 8", the dimensional weight is 2048/194 = 10.5 -> 11 lbs.

With the above in mind, if your order required a box measuring 16" x 16" x 8" and weighed 6 lbs., you would be charged the rate as if it weighed 11 lbs.!

As is evident, it is impossible for our web site to determine what size box will be required to ship any combination of products. Our site uses only the actual weight to provide shipping estimates. Due to this reason, most Priority Mail quotes will NOT BE ACCURATE and may be subject to dimensional weight rates. In fact, the only States that aren't affected are California, Nevada, Utah, and Arizona. So if you live outside of these states, then the USPS quote on our site will most likely not be accurate. Of course once your order is ready to ship, we will be able to provide you the exact shipping costs.

We are still trying to figure out the USPS' logic behind this. Our recommendation to our customers outside of AZ, CA, NV, and UT is to simply select a FedEx or UPS shipping method instead.

International Mail Service Changes

The USPS has also significantly changed their international services. The old Parcel Post and Global Priority Mail options have been consolidated into one Priority Mail International service. Global Express Mail is still available. The Surface Mail (ocean) has been discontinued. Our site will continue to provide automatic shipping quotes for international destinations.

If I pre-order an item, am I guaranteed to receive it?

We take pre-orders very seriously and make every effort to ensure that you will receive items that you have pre-ordered, so yes, if you pre-order an item, you will receive it! There are very rare instances where we may not be able to fill a pre-order (usually due to severe allocations by the manufacturer or cancellation by the manufacturer), but in such cases, we will always contact you and let you know if there are any problems. Otherwise, you should always assume that if you have pre-ordered an item, you will receive it when it is released!

I pre-ordered an item and now it is listed as 'sold out' on your site, but I haven't received my order. Is there a problem?

If you have pre-ordered an item and you notice it listed as SOLD OUT on our site, please do not be alarmed. The sold out status does not affect your pre-order. We order a particular quantity from our suppliers, and sometimes we sell out of that quantity before the product is actually released. So the sold out status only means that we are not taking any more pre-orders. Your pre-order is still safe in our system and you will still receive the item once it is released and we receive our shipment.
